Courage

September 22, 2009

More than sixty years after the Nazi Occupation and all the horrors of WWII people around the world remember the horrors the Axis powers put in front of us, and th courage of the many Allied soldiers who lost their lives fighting against these horrors. Millions died before the war ended and yet people still fought for what was right. Some people never saw action but fought in their own way. Peter and the underground fought for God, and were warriors of God. They showed this by showing kindness to all, standing up for what was right, and trying to do good in a time of great evil and horror. Peter himself ignored the curfew and worked passed it even afer the threat of going to work at the mills. He showed his country pride and gave hope to other who had lost it by playing the Willhemith. Even though he went to jail Peter had his effect on the people around him. He gave the hope and courage needed to do things in this time to others. These things and many other small actions contribute to the war effort in small ways. These little things can give courage in the darkest times and get others to be courageous. These small things can save lives.

Life

June 15,1944

Life is back to normal. At least a normal as it can be without Tante Betsie and Whillehm. Obviosly I have returned to my work on the piano, and Tante Corrie has opened her home, and is now giving talks all over Europe. It's is amazing to travel now that the war is over, and see all the destruction. Every country has taken some blows. All of them could be avoided but Germany just hates Jews that much. Oh well what can you do about it. You win some you lose some. Thank God Germany loses all of them! Well life is still going on, and all we can do is lick out wounds and forget the past.

Hurray!

May 6, 1945

The war is over! The allied forces have just signed a decleration on the defeat of Germany. That means no ration cards. I might be able to gain some weight after eating mush forever. Tante Corrie is home with a dream of a concentration camp survival home for those who where harmed by the war. Its a good dream and wiil gor through but you have to wonder what happened to Kik. Its sad to think about, but their is nothing you can do to change it. He is in a better place now. Well now life will go back to normal right? Who knows but I am going to go get some good food. Good bye.

I'm Back

December 16, 1944

This place doesn't seem the same. Their's is an obvious sense of worry in the soldiers eyes. They know that the war is coming to an end, and they are worried about what is going to happen. Imagine it, Harlamm is going to be a free place again. Then I can play the piano again without going to jail. That would be nice. Gifted people should not go to jail for playing, and I am a genius obviosly on the piano. Still I hope Tantes Corrie and Betsie get home safely. It would be a sad Christmas without them. Whillhem is sick though, and will probably not last very long. This war has had its toll on all of us. I really can't wait for it to be over.

Finally Out

May 25, 1944

Finally i'm out of prison. Good God i'll be shocked if Mom recognizes me after a few months in jail. I look like a ghost and I need a bath. That is definately the first thing I am doing when I get back. Whillem,Corrie,Kik, and Betsie are still in jail though so it's bitter sweet. I don't think I can continue my work without Pickwick and Whillehm so i'm going to take it easy for the next few weeks. Maybe they will get out pretty soon, maybe the war will end, maybe I am being unrealistic, but I think I only got out when I did because I am still younger than the others. Oh well I have to get catch the train.

Same Old Place

Augest 28, 1943
Yes this place is same old same oldplace , except this time i'm not completely by myself. There is Whillhem, Opa was here but died a couple weeks after arriving here, there is Kik, and the food window seems to be very friendly. The worst part about all this though is the boredom. We sit all day doing nothing in our cells. If it weren't for the computer I would go insane.
